Today I bought a tablet pen, Bamboo, from WACOM (http://www.wacom.com/bambootablet/bamboo.php) to start practicing some design works. In my first attempt I have drawn the Bangladesh flag. Looks like a child work but this is my first try. Hope it will get better soon.
My blog is now powered by WordPress. Since I launched my website, since 2000, I’ve always maintained my own design; even I’ve developed a blog so that I can shape it the way I want. But these days I don’t even have time to write something on my blog and to come up with a new design is something that is kind of IMPOSSIBLE.
So, the thing I’ve decided to do is what you see now. I’ve installed WordPress on my server and just finished importing all my blog entries, setup the pages and, of course, choose the theme. Choosing theme was one of the biggest and time consuming part of this whole process. I always like simple but eye catching design. I don’t know if this design is eye catching to you (the reader) but I really liked it. First time I saw this theme on Lokesh Dhakar’s website, developer of Lightbox script used to overlay images.
After installing WordPress, I’ve been trying to explore different things it offers; different plug-ins, themes, widgets etc. I’ve never used WordPress but the experience so far is good. It has some nice features, which I’ve always wanted to implement on my custom made blog. Now that I’ve decided to use WordPress, it will make my life easier, I hope. I know to add a new page or post is going to be smooth but not sure about choosing new theme. I don’t like to hang around with a single design for a long time. I hope that will be smooth as well
Change of color it is. Suddenly this afternoon when I was watching TV, this idea came in to mind. At first I did not want to use Orange but later the new combination looked pretty good to me.
I had some photos of a dress exhibition where I found the design on top of the page. Took that part did some quick editing in Photoshop and changed the style of my name there as well. Over all that’s pretty much the change I have made on the site. Yes, the color as well. This design will stay for sometime until I get some other idea.
Although I worked on the site’s look suddenly, I wanted to make the change because few of things in my life is about to change. I’m moving to Canada by end of this month [August]. I’ve received Permanent Residency in Canada couple of weeks ago. I hope to get a good life there. Good internet connection!! Woohooo!! LoL [..Well BD's net is now Ok than before..] I’m not sure if I would want to look into business opportunities or look for a job. But hope to do it right, what ever I do.
I’m surely going to miss Bangladesh and everything around me here. Change of color on my site reflects to the change of color in my life. I’m a little excited about moving to Canada. I have a strong desire to come back to Bangladesh. Part of that desire is to start my own company, which will allow me to visit Bangladesh
every year at least. I hope I can do that.
I am really glad to have friends that I’ve made over past two years. All of you have inspired me one way or another. I’ve also met people who know a lot but do not have any decent manner, which is very sad. I really believe these people can take Bangladesh a long way only if they change their attitude.
My special thanks Munaz, Rahman, Hasin Bhai, Shimul, Rupom, and Rafiq Bhai. Thanks also go to Arefin and Nizar who helped me and guided me through lots of things. This will be really bad if I do not mention one name in particular. This guy taught me lot of things. After I left BOL job, I met this guy who guided me, showed me ways to learn many things. Because of the knowledge that I gathered (probably 4% of his knowledge) from him I can now stand up tall among the Bangladeshi PHP Programmers. This special Thanks goes to Mr M. J. This Blog looks alike to other blogs but purely coded and implemented by me. Soon I will release a version to download, which you will be able to install easily.
